Viterbo University's STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and pre-health programs prepare students to meet the growing demand for professionals with interdisciplinary skills. Through a collaborative community of students, faculty, and industry partners, you'll learn, conduct research, and gain hands-on experience across disciplines. Strong partnerships with advisory boards, health care providers, alumni, and transfer institutions ensure our programs remain current, relevant, and aligned with today's workforce needs.

HAWK WORKS
HAWK WORKS (Holistic Alliances Whose Knowledge Will Offer Resources for Kickstarting Success) brings together students and faculty from disciplines across campus to identify areas in need of innovation, design, and construct solutions. HAWK WORKS elevates projects into commercialized products to broaden the impact and accessibility of innovations. In a world that is becoming increasingly specialized, you will strengthen your communication and teamwork skills by working with individuals from diverse technical backgrounds.

Viterbo’s STEM degree pre-health degree cohort model ensures that you will form meaningful connections with your peers and establish strong relationships with industry professionals. We recognize the pivotal role these connections play in fostering a supportive learning environment and career success.

Our faculty members provide you with a multidisciplinary education that crosses traditional boundaries, which prepares you for real-world challenges and opportunities.
Scholarship opportunities
Viterbo’s STEM and pre-health students can apply for a number of scholarships, including:
- Health Science Scholarship
- Xcel Energy Scholarship for Women in Science
- A $2,000 per year scholarship for engineering majors
- A $500 scholarship for incoming students who attend our annual Engineering Exploration Day at the start of the spring semester
- Six named annual scholarships awarded to current natural science students. 2023–24 scholarships totaled $19,100.
I’ve been incredibly privileged in my academic and professional career. I would’ve never dreamed as a kid that I’d spend a month living in New York doing physiology experiments or that’d I’d have an opportunity to present at an international conference in Japan. I feel so grateful to those who’ve mentored me and have shown me my potential and the best parts of myself.
Viterbo’s strong science and math curriculum, faculty-student mentorship, and research opportunities were stellar. Equally important were the values, friendships, and wisdom of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, all of whom helped form me as a person. Cumulatively, these set me up for success professionally and personally.
