Joe recently retired as a Full Professor of Costume Design at the University of Wisconsin'La Crosse after 33 years of designing and teaching. Over the course of his career, he created costumes and makeup for more than 170 productions, with work spanning from diverse theatrical companies across the midwest to stages as far as Cairo, Egypt.

In "retirement," Joe continues to design selectively while embracing a full and curious life, exploring new cuisines, experimenting in the kitchen, and seeking out adventures with his partner Mary. His creative energy remains rooted in collaboration, storytelling, and the joy of making something meaningful with others.

He's delighted to be part of the production team for Kiss Me Kate and to contribute his experience to a show that celebrates the artistry that's been such a driving force in his life.
