A Mississippi native, Diane Foust received her B.M. in Vocal Performance from Millsaps College, Jackson, Mississippi and her M.M. in Vocal Performance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She performed in Mississippi with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra and the Mississippi Opera, toured with the Children's Opera Theatre of the Arkansas Opera, and sang with the Memphis Pops Orchestra.  She received an Ed. D. in Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she sang with the University of Illinois Opera Theatre and several choral groups.  Since arriving at Viterbo in 1985, she has taught a variety of courses including applied voice, music theory, choral methods, and song literature, as well as establishing the Ninth St. Singers and music directing many musicals.   She was a charter member of the La Crosse Chamber Chorale and has music directed a number of musicals at La Crosse Community Theatre.  After retiring from full-time teaching in 2013, she served on the boards of the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, the United Fund for the Arts and Humanities, and Alexander Technique International. She continues to teach voice and the Alexander Technique privately and at Viterbo.

Delighted to be back as Music Director for   Kiss Me, Kate, she loves the process of putting a show together. New discoveries are made every day. With this Cole Porter classic, we have beautiful music with clever lyrics, and characters of all kinds: from leading lady and leading man (who happen to be exes!) to stage crew, an army general, and two gangsters who may capture your heart. Not to mention great dance numbers for our emerging triple threats.
